Recently I went away to Byron Day for a girls weekend, and knowing I would be drinking the Classic Margaritas at Miss Marg’s like it was nobodies business, I started a 1 day juice cleanse the day before I left.
Slightly dubious, as I don’t like to buy into anything that is all about weight loss (skinny me tea kinda thang), the reason I chose to run with Downtown Pressed Juices is because they are just delicious, local, healthy juices. Downtown started in Geelong in 2016, and have recently been given a new lease of life with new owners. They have moved into Geelongs best ‘hub’ in the CBD with a physical store in Little Malop St (though you can find them in a variety of places around Geelong).
My one day juice cleanse was delivered to my door bright an early in the morning, after being made the night before, and went straight into the fridge. Each (1 day) cleanse has 6 large 350 ml juices, and a small elixir to kick start your metabolism. The elixir is delicious, made from Lemon, Tumeric and Apple Cider Vinegar. The other juices are:
Ace Of Spades – Water, Medicinal grade coconut charcoal, Lemon
G6 – Kale, Spinach, Cucumber, Celery, Lemon
Dirty Beets – Beetroot, Orange, Celery, Carrot, Lemon, Ginger
and my favourite, Doctor C – Carrot, Orange , Celery, Lemon, Turmeric, Cayenne
All in all I didn’t feel too hungry – a lot of people do the 3 or 5 day cleanses and although I’m not convinced I could forfeit real food for 5 days, I certainly felt less bloated but still like I was doing something healthy for myself! You can find our more about their range and the company here. I personally can’t wait to try the Golden Milk and the Cartel collaboration!
Downtown Pressed Juice Co have happily come on board as our first sponsor for the Geelong Mums Wine Club first meet up on Friday 26th May at Little Creatures Brewery. Everyone who attends will be getting a discount code for the 3 day cleanse, so make sure you pop down for a wine!
