Hunters Birthday x Marathon Foods

It’s Marathon Foods times again!

As you guys know, I’ve been working with this company for a long time now, and regularly eat their meals. Hands down, one of my favourite moments is when we simply can’t be bothered cooking, and can’t justify getting take out and we realise – hey, we have Marathon in the back shed! Yep, that’s where we keep it, because the meals are made fresh and kept that way by use of clever technology and packaging without the need for refrigeration or freezing. Working 4 nights a week to Chris 5 days a week means there are times when we need something to eat quickly, but I still want it to be hearty and healthy, and that’s where my Marathon stash steps in.

Recently at Hunters birthday party we treated our guests to the Chilli Con Carne and the Meatballs, and they were a huge hit. My favourite is the Chilli, whereas my husband thinks the meatballs are the best he’s every had! The packets are so easy to just open and heat up, and serve with your choice of mash, pasta or veggies. There is also a few Lamb Shank choices as well which my family all enjoy, but I’m not much of a lamb person myself.

I love these because they’re cheaper than a dinner meal service (or take out, or eating out), they’re quicker than any of the above because it’s a heat and serve scenario, and by having a few in the pantry you always have a cheap and easy back up – without compromising on flavour.

The entire line is going through a packaging rebrand at the moment which looks incredible, and the Chef Direct Con Carne Mexican Mild Chilli Beef & Bean will be back in retailers this September/ October – Stay tuned! Chef Direct Lamb Shanks are currently available in IGA so go hunting for them, you won’t regret it.

Make sure to enter my facebook competition to win a 1.2kg bag of the Chilli Con Carne!
